Sebagai warga Kota Tarakan, menjadi sebuah kebanggan tersendiri karena terdapat berbagai macam jenis-jenis peninggalan sejarah perang dunia kedua. Namun, kekecewaan juga yang higgap dalam diri ini ketika melihat situs-situs bersejarah ini tidak terawat bahkan sudah ada yang hilang.
